Capital Area United Way announced at its 2018 Annual Meeting on July 26 that the Society of St. Vincent de Paul was selected as the 2017-2018 Community Impact Award Winner. This prestigious honor is given annually to a partner in the 10-Parish United Way Service Area who is responsive to the needs of their clients and community served through exceptional services, programs and customer service; a model organization for collaboration and best practices to enhance the quality of service and life for the community; and is creating lasting community impact through measured and proven results. “We are excited about being chosen as the Community Impact Award recipient,” said St. Vincent de Paul president and CEO Michael Acaldo, left, who is pictured receiving the award with Denise Terrance, director of the organization’s dining room. “We are uplifted that our mission of serving the poor and homeless is important to CAUW’s leadership.
