Deacon Al Levy and his wife, Dottie, cut palms from two palm trees from their well-manicured lawn of their Hammond home. Deacon Levy admitted that Dottie, who is legally blind, cares for the palms throughout the year, feeding them regularly, covering them during freezing weather and carefully trimming them. The couple expects to cut approximately 300 palms that will be distributed this weekend during Palm Sunday Masses at Our Lady of Pompeii Church in Tickfaw, where Deacon Levy is the parish life coordinator. He said Joe John and Virgina Bravata are also donating palms to Our Lady of Pompeii from their own palm trees.  Photos by Richard Meek | The Catholic Commentator
