The Catholic Schools Office announced the appointment of Kristy Monsour as Program Administrator of the Diocese of Baton Rouge Special Education REACH Program and Resource Lab Services effective July 1. Monsour graduated from St. Scholastica Academy in Covington and holds two degrees from Louisiana State University: Bachelor of Science in elementary education and Master of Education. In addition, she has participated in dyslexia therapy training and has completed certification as an academic language practitioner.

Monsour has 18 years of education experience, both as a teacher and an administrator. She recently served as assistant principal at the Lower School at Our Lady of Mercy School in Baton Rouge.

“It is (Monsour’s) desire to provide all children with the opportunity to experience a quality Catholic school education, and she has had unique experiences in regular and special education programs to equip her for the position of program administrator,” said Dr. Melanie Palmisano, Superintendent of Schools for the Diocese of Baton Rouge.
